The Run Amok gallery hosting the solo exhibition of Malaysian artist Liew Kwai Fei. Simply entitled Solo Exhibition by Liew Kwai Fei, this would be his sixth solo show where he will be showcasing his journey as one of todays exciting contemporary artists.
Kwai Fei is putting up paintings as well as some installations in multimedia and sculptures where follows the success of his last solo show which was held at Valentine Willie last year entitled ‘Painted Words and Written Paintings: For the Refined and For the Masses’.
As any improving artist will usually do, he is adopting some new material and medium in his body of work apart from his usually more common paintings. For this show, Liew is taking a self-reflective stance where he drives and integrates between political ideology with the experiences of daily life.
This is the first time that Liew is holding his solo show in Georgetown where some of his works are used as the platform to criticize the intrinsic moral values and through using his own artistic interpretations of such issues into his work. Born in 1979, Liew is a graduate of MIA (Malaysian Institute of Art) with a diploma in Chinese ink painting.
Opening Hours: Tuesdays to Saturdays 11.00am 6.00pm
