The Galeri Seni Mutiara is currently hosting a solo art exhibition entitled Ultramarine by one of the most renowned watercolor artists of Malaysia, Yeap Tho Seng. The show will be running from the 9th February to the 23rd of February and will be featuring the latest works of this exemplary artist who has been actively involved in the local and international art scene for many years.
Born in 1942, Yeap is among the members of the earliest generation of artists of Malaysia. The self-taught artists is among the most respective professionals in the local art scene where he has previously held solo shows mainly in Penang while he had a solo show in Taiwan back in 1989.
Apart from that, the intricate strokes that Yeap puts in to his paintings have garnered a following where they have been exhibited in many art spaces while they are in public collections like the Fisheries Research Institute, Tecom France and the Penang State Art Gallery as well as being used in the ACIDCHEM Calendar in 2000.
Ultramarine would be the perfect avenue for Yeaps paintings to be viewed and appreciated by the general public that will showcase his ingenuis interplay of colors using his very own trademarked techinques.
