The Door art exhibition at House of Matahati

The House of Matahati will be presenting its latest art exhibition entitled ‘The Door’. This is essentially the degree show by students from UiTM (Universiti Teknologi Mara) which will include various works from students in the esteemed university which have produced some of the most remarkable artists in the Malaysian art scene.

The name of the show ‘The Door’ is inspired as a passageway that each art graduate would have to go through in order to establish a name for themselves in the art scene of the region. There will be 7 young artists who might just be the next big name in the Malaysian art industry. Apart from being a typical group show, it is also essentially the ‘door’ which will open up to more new opportunities for the young and emerging talents.

The artists involved int he show include Hadir Wasli, Manisah Daud, Shafiq Nordin, Siti Noraini Salleh, Hisyamuddin Abdullah, Nurul Shahida Ibrahim and Shikh Khadir Ahmad. Take a while to immerse into the works of these new artists who would be bringing their own interpretations through their respective unique artworks.

The exhibition runs until 22 September 2012 at HoM and it will include the oil on canvas works of Hisyamuddin entitled ‘Father Nature’, the oil on canvas painting by Shikh Khaidir entitled ‘Lenggang Bertapak, Si Pengawal Air’ and Haidir Wasli’s ‘Your Wall is our War Zone’.

Shafiq’s work is a mixed media interpretation he called ‘The Illusionist’ while Siti Noraini painted ‘Mengejar Yang Abadi’ and Manisah work is called ‘The Remains of the Green Realm’.
