Yearly Art Auction
What makes The Edge Galerie so unique is that this gallery hosts its own art auction. The Edge Galerie houses The Edge Auction since 2013 which is one of the most anticipated events each year.
The Edge held its first art auction of Contemporary and Modern Malaysian Art in June 2013. The auction had its preview both in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur throughout the month of June before the actual auction day on June 29th at DoubleTree by Hilton in Kuala Lumpur. There were in total 33 pieces of artwork form very renowned and established Malaysian artists that included Abdul Latiff Mohidin’s 1956 ‘Pago-Pago’ painting which was sold for RM22,000.
Datuk Chuah Thean Teng’s ‘Female Nude’ painting went under the hammer for RM77,000 while the highest bid went to Datuk Ibrahim Hussein’s ‘Kuala Lumpur IX Months’ which was sold for RM495,000.
