Art Square

Art collecting for everyone

Most art galleries usually start with an objective of bridging art with collectors and art lovers. Along the way, the art gallery will sell art to sustain its business. Not every art gallery can claim that it is out to connect art to everyone. This is the very idea that started with Art Square. The main objective was to allow everyone be able to collect art.

Large catalogue

With this objective, Art Square offers affordable art and allowing better accessibility for anyone who is interested in Malaysian art. As the gallery wants art not only for the rich or elite crowd, it has more than 500 pieces of artwork available for just about anyone.
Its catalogue of artworks come from the best of both Malaysian and international artists with strict guidelines and selection.

Location and types of art

Art Square is located in Bangsar. The art loving crowd would enjoy its public space that brings together a myriad of art and artists from around the world. One would expect to buy affordable art here from as low as RM400 that cuts across all types of impressions and art forms while there are selections for expensive artworks as well.

On-lookers passing along the busy Jalan Maarof Bangsar could not help but notice the 6.7 feet hand-painted wall mural atop the entrance to Art Square’s flagship gallery. The mural is an artistic creation of Ernest Zacharevic, the Lithuanian artist renowned for his series of interactive wall murals in Penang.

Now everyone can be an art collector. That is the idea behind Art Square. With a collection of over 500 original artworks from local and international artists, Art Square aspires to bring quality art works at an affordable price range to the masses and elevate the art appreciation level in the country.

Occupying a 4,000 sqft building, Art Square’s flagship gallery offers the public a viewing experience from a wide spectrum of artistic expressions namely abstract, realism, surrealism, pop art and nature-themed or landscape art.

Though most of the art pieces showcased at the gallery are reasonably priced (starts from RM400) it also has a section catering to higher end fine art collectibles such as Khalil Ibrahim, Peter Liew, Tang Hong Lee, Yap Chin Hoe, Ronnie Mohamad, to name a few.
