Montage Fine Art Gallery is one of the latest additions to the Malaysian art scene. Opened in 2015, it is housed in the luxurious neighbourhood of Bangsar.
Founders and background
The Montage Fine Art Gallery is the brainchild of 2 founders which are Richard Lee and Nicole Ho. Unexpectedly and unlike other founders of art galleries, they were both not very active in the art scene before venturing into this business.
From other industries
Husband and wife Richard and Nicole were actually from the engineering industry and property line before starting this business. In fact, Richard is a professional engineer where he decided to open the gallery with his wife after a chance meeting with his art teacher during one of their trips. The teacher, Mr Peter Liew actually suggested to the couple to invest into this business before they decided to pursue further. The discussion took place and the company was established a month later before opening the gallery the following month.
What makes Montage Fine Art Gallery such an interesting gallery is that it is opened in Jalan Maarof before moving to a new location in Subang Jaya, a place no stranger to art where it has been involved in various events including the Miss Malaysia pageant in 2015.
