Active new art space
The Run Amok or RA art gallery is one of the most exciting art spaces to have surfaced in recent years. It prides itself as an alternative art space located in the northern state of Penang, Malaysia. Since opening its doors in 2013, RA has been hosting various forms of shows and events that transcend across art and culture.
Background of Run Amok
In 2013, Hoo Fan Chon and the late Trevor Hampson started Run Amok art gallery. Since then, it has grown by leaps and bounds and today, the gallery is run as an art collective. Those involved are:
Liew Kwai Fei, Minstrel Kuik, Hasanul Isyraf Idris, Tetriana Ahmed Fauzi and Hoo Fan Chon
Shows in Run Amok
Run Amok gallery carries out several events throughout the year. This includes show that cover art and culture both within and outside Malaysia. Some of the events are organized with the help and collaboration with practitioners from across the region. In the past, Run Amok operates this at its premises at Hutton Lane before moving to the Hin Bus Depot Art Center in 2016.
