The Singapore Affordable Art Fair is set to take place in the next few days and will surely be one of the anticipated art events around the region and the cultural hub in Singapore. This would be one the Singapore version of the project which was started way back in 1996 by Will Ramsay when he started the Will’s Art Warehouse. It was then that he concentrated relatively unknown artists and offered affordable artworks between £50 and £2,500 from a collection of over 150 artists.
3 years later, he took his Art Warehouse project to another level and that was when Affordable Art Fair was born in Battersea Park. The creation of an art fair which offered affordable artwork of aspiring artists received overwhelming response and before long it went on to other parts of the world like Brussels, New York, Milan, Hong Kong and of course Singapore.
Running from 15th to 18th November, the Affordable Art Fair Singapore will be held at the 1 Pit Building which will involve 4 days of contemporary art in several galleries where there will be thousands of original artworks for sale. This would involve prints, sculptures, photography and other body of work which are more affordable than market-priced art. Where this is concerned, it can be expected that the works of art would come from the emerging and established artists around the region while there will also be a Young Talents exhibition which will feature emerging or the new generation of artists in Asia.
