The IGL Studio in Sentul East is hosting a solo exhibition by Tan Shen Ru. The shows title is Colour in Motion which features the paintings of the Penang-born artist. As the name implies, it will be featuring some very clever and profound color combination and interplay of shapes and elements used by Shen Ru in her own signature ways.
Shen Ru is an emerging artist whose body of work encapsulates the abstract contemporary areas. She is said to be fascinated with the elements of the visual world like form, shape, texture, color, line and movement which she uses to dictate her expressions through her art.
Shen Ru studied at Graceland University in the US where she majored in Art and minored in Music with a Bachelor in Arts. She is engaged with RT& Q Architects where she finds the time to immerse in her art whenever she can, something which she finds to be therapeutic.
She travels around and believes that what she sees in her travels play an important role in understanding art and discovery of herself as an individual. This is being manifested in this collection which goes through her experiential moments and draw the viewer into her visual world so vividly.
