Graffiti art was once associated with the likes of vandalism but since this street art became more popular, it has been seen with a different light. While there are some very beautiful street art across the world, looking within Malaysia can have quite a fulfilling experience. We list out some of the top graffiti art spots around the Klang Valley.
Central Market – You will see this piece of work along the Pasar Seni LRT station around the walls of the Klang River which is one of the mainstays here.
Bangunan Yee Seng – This is along Jalan Raja Chulan and is done by artists Anokayer and Yumz which is commissioned by Petronas.
KL Downtown – If you are around the junction of Jalan Tun H.S Lee and Jalan Tun Tan Siew Sin, you will spot the ‘Makmur, Luhur and Teguh’ words beautifully painted on the Chinese stall by Phiberwryte Connection.
Nando’s – An advocate of the local art scene, this mural here is by Kenji Chai which is on the fascia of the restaurant.
SS2 – This piece was done along several places around SS2 and was part of the ‘Bestnya Malaysiaku’ art competition that saw more than 100 submissions.
Jalan Gereja – How can street art in Malaysia be without Ernest Zacharevic after his beautiful works in Penang? He did one in Wisma Allianz which is true to his traits and styles here.
