Lee Eng Beng is a Malaysian artist who was born in 1967. He is a self-taught artist who attended Han Chiang High School and then became an art teacher at the Eng Beng Art Centre. As an artists, he has been one of the most prominent artists where he is a member of the Malaysian Watercolour Organisation.
He also won awards for his works where he as the former winner of the Young Artist Award at the Penang Museum Annual Art Exhibition. On top of that, he also won the First Prize at the Malaysian Watercolour painting competition organized by Teochew Association in 1994. Her watercolour techniques is known to be one of the best in the art scene where he has held exhibitions in public and private galleries around the country as well as abroad.
Lee Eng Beng’s Exhibitions
Lee Eng Beng joined group exhibitions that include the Asian Watercolour Federation Exhibition, the 1991 International Watercolour Exhibition in South Korea, the International Watercolour Exhibition in Japan and the Asean Watercolor Exhibition in Taiwan. In the local front, his works were seen at the Open Art Exhibition of the Pesta Pulau Pinang between 1993 to 2004 while in 1999, he was part of the Penang Artist Directory Art Exhibition at the Pinang Gallery.
