The White Box in MAPKL, Publika will be hosting a truly exciting exhibition entitled Not For Sale Art Exhibition. As the name implies, the show will be featuring some of the works of Malaysian artists which will not be available for purchase.
The exhibition is held to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of MAPKL where it congregates artists, gallery owners and art collectors together to showcase their artworks accumulated over the years. It will demonstrate the healthy balance and eco-system of the Malaysian art scene which is very active and has remained so for decades.
To demonstrate this, there will be some very interesting themes that are put on show which include art pieces which are special to the collector which in this show could be the first of many acquisitions, the most precious work of a particular artist, the most provocative art work, a painting which came from through a special inheritance and many others. Among collectors who have put out their works include Hanif Idris, Dato Parameswaran, Dr Steve Wong, U-Wei Haji Saari and the unforgettable Ng Sek San, among others.
Artists whose works are on display include Ahmad Zakii Anwar, Gan Chin Lee, Jalaini Abu Hassan, Liew Kung Yu, Sharifah Fatimah Syed Zubir and Yee I-lann while gallery owners who joined the show include G13s Kenny Teng, Nabil Nahar of NN Gallery, Scarlette Lee of Core Design Gallery and Valentine Willie, among others.
